Maybe it’s that the goal was achieved last week and I ran that half distance or maybe it’s something else. However, when it came to doing my long run this week, it nearly killed me. Undoubtedly the slowest and most painful 10 miles I have run. It started ok but by the end, I could hardly put one foot in front of the other. Breathing was upset, legs like jelly, everything was off.
Perhaps the strain of recent weeks combined with the renewed lack of focus just knocked me sideways. I’m not going to worry about it but I will undoubtedly think about it!
